Entertainment industry should be mindful of sensitivity to take necessary step to contribute for social transformation and moral uplift – President of India Mr Pranab Mukerjee in his speech addressed the massive gathering at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday evening at the grand finale of South Indian Cinema industry celebration of Centenary of Indian cinema.

Quoting the recent crime on children and women, communal riots as tragic the president urged for necessity to strike essential balance of entertainment industry to bring social responsibility.  The President was mentioning the observation of Mahatma Gandhiji with Sathyamurthy name – had there been 10 Sathyamurthy in India we would sent sent British much earlier.

According to President of India history is created by man of vision and dream. In her speech Dr Jayalalitha has rightly depicted the stages of growth. Indian cinema is shining in global enterprise and showing advancement in technological improvement. It is largest in the world market reaching many countries and film makers are recognized with international honors. Digital cinema has come, post production improved to world standards. Music is enthralling not only in India but overseas. South cinema has major role. Luminaries like MGR, Sivaji Ganeshan, NTR, PRem Nazir, Dr Rajakumar, SS Vasan, LV Prasad, Nagi Reddy contributed. The jury for honor did not forget to honor Dr Jayalalitha who has great contribution to cinema. The national government has film awards for aesthetic and technical excellence; South is bagging for its quality because it is showcasing best talent. In the 100 years method of story narration changed, it is a sea change and increasing need is there for preserving the heritage to the future generation felt the President of India.

The President of India Pranab Mukerjee also mentioned that it is time Pune and Calcutta Film and Television Institutes are declared as national importance.
